Circle to withdraw from their contract to run Hinchingbrooke Hospital
First private firm to manage an NHS hospital says it wants to withdraw from its contract.
Could all the ideological gurus please line up to tell us how this is someone else's fault.

Come on, I know you've just appeared on another thread - justify your claims, or admit you can't

So, where exactly in that post did I say that YOU SAID there was only one bidder?

It's only two lines. You should be able to spot it.

Do you think you're the only source of information in the Universe?

You're so up yourself I can see why you're so keen to defend Jesus - you think of him as your loyal lieutenant...

It would be the one that led you to post this;

Re: Circle to withdraw from their contract to run Hinchingbrooke Hospital
So what was the point of the year-long process assessing Circle when they were the only remaining bidder, Hermit?"

Re: Circle to withdraw from their contract to run Hinchingbrooke Hospital
Thing is this us just one hospital. Privatisation of public services is being snuck in via the back door in so many different ways. The NHS is/was more than just hospitals. Look at how many primary care trusts are now run by Sirona care for example. This never makes the news. The same with schools becoming academies and being run like businesses where the importance if education is nowhere near the most important thing

I didn't say they were the only bidder"

If you thought they were the only bidder, this is an entirely pointless post, isn't it?

Gph,

You seem to be working yourself up into a bit of a state by making up something I said and addressing that, rather than responding to what I actually said.

The Hinchingbrooke is my local hospital and must admit it is very clean and efficient

I'd be happy to pay a premium on my council tax / to keep it that way too. only had to use it once but just hope it's still open if I ever need to again.

Why the fuck did you post as if you were unaware that Circle were the sole bidder for the last year of the process if you were aware?

Accusing me of intellectual gymnastics is no way of getting out of this - an explanation is needed

That is quite funny but to be fair, hospitals get into bigger messes run by the public sector and, as Infidel said, plenty of the NHS is already run by private companies so what is it that makes people piss their knickers about other parts of the NHS being run by private companies too?

I would love to hear from one of the resident Lefties on here a cogent argument against allowing private contractors to run hospitals.

How about this thread topic for a start you fucking moron.

Re: Circle to withdraw from their contract to run Hinchingbrooke Hospital
Which company will next try to run a NHS hospital?

Current private hospitals run on a pattern which enables them to control their patient flow so there is no comparison possible with a NHS hospital.

The NHS could not provide the services it does without the use of outsiders and it's shown to be working. The outsourcing of specific procedures such a s scanning, hip and knee replacements, physio services etc. is showing to be both cost effective and beneficial to patients.

I am sure that most companies looking at the NHS would be willing to take on the regular work content tasks but leave alone the A&E.

Re: Circle to withdraw from their contract to run Hinchingbrooke Hospital
Just like all the other privatised public services, when the emphasis is switched to profit, the service provided goes into decline. The NHS needs a cash injection, but from the tax payer, not private companies.

Re: Circle to withdraw from their contract to run Hinchingbrooke Hospital
If paying private companies to run the NHS helps with the "supply and demand" issue than fine but this case suggests that Circle have got basically nowhere with it.

If they have ploughed their own money into it then they deserve to fail, as it the capitalist principal but the state should not be expected to foot any bill as a result of Circle's bad judgement.
